Perceptions Counseling and Consulting Outpatient Treatment

Outpatient treatment programs at Perceptions Counseling provide culturally and linguistically appropriate services that include, but are not limited to, individual, group, and family counseling, substance abuse education, and education on wellness, recovery, and resiliency. Led by Stacy Ramsey, a dedicated counselor, these programs offer comprehensive, coordinated, and clearly defined services that may vary in level of intensity. Outpatient programs may address a variety of needs, including situational stressors, family relations, interpersonal relationships, mental health concerns, life span challenges, psychiatric illnesses, and substance use disorders or other addictive behaviors.

Psychosocial Rehabilitation

Core programs in this field category demonstrate a strong collaborative partnership with the persons served, the development of opportunities for personal growth, a commitment to community integration, goal oriented and individualized supports, and the promotion of satisfaction and success in community living. Programs in this category may serve persons with a variety of concerns, including persons with developmental or physical disabilities.

Mental Health

Core programs in this field category are designed to provide services for people with or who are at risk for Overall wellness or have other mental health needs. These programs encompass a wide variety of therapeutic settings and intervention modalities and may provide services to those with behavioral health disabilities or co-occurring disabilities; intellectual or developmental disabilities; victims or perpetrators of domestic violence or abuse and/or drug, gambling, or internet addictions.

Family Services

Core programs in this field category are designed to maintain or improve the quality of life for children, adolescents, or other family members individually or in their relationships with their families, their environments, or other individuals. Core programs in this field category are directed at the reduction of symptoms and/or the improvement of functioning for the person served or family unit.

Case Management

Core programs in this field category are activities which bring services, agencies, resources, or people together within a planned framework of action toward the achievement of established goals. It may involve liaison activities and collateral contacts. Trained professionals coordinate services for client care.

Integrated AOD/Mental Health

Core programs in this field category are designed to provide a combination of alcohol and other drugs/addictions and mental health services. This may include services provided in a psychosocial format. Services may be provided through a seamless system of care for individuals with needs in one or both areas or for persons with identified co-occurring disorders, including any of the concerns listed under the Mental Health field category.

SCREENING

The process by which the client is determined appropriate and eligible for admission to a particular program. Determine the client’s appropriateness for admission or referral. Determine the client’s eligibility for admission or referral.

Identify any coexisting conditions (medical, psychiatric, physical, etc.) that indicate need for additional professional assessment and/or services. Adhere to applicable laws, regulations and agency policies governing alcohol and other drug abuse services.

Intake

The administrative and initial assessment procedures for admission to a program. Staff and clients collaboratively complete required documents for admission to the program. Complete required documents for program eligibility and appropriateness. Obtain appropriately signed consents when soliciting from or providing information to outside sources to protect client confidentiality and rights.

Referral

This is the process of identifying the needs of a client that cannot be met by the counselor or agency and assisting the client to utilize the support systems and community resources available. Qualified professionals will identify need(s) and/or problem(s) that the agency and/or counselor cannot meet. Explain the rationale for the referral to the client. Match client needs and/or problems to appropriate resources. Adhere to applicable laws, regulations and agency policies governing procedures related to the protection of the client’s confidentiality. Assist the client in utilizing the support systems and community resources available.

Crisis Interventions

Perceptions Counseling and Consulting offers 24/7 crisis support that ensures individuals never have to face a crisis alone, even outside of regular office hours.

These services are designed to provide immediate support, to people who may be experiencing:

  • Suicidal thoughts or self-harm
  • Severe anxiety, panic, or emotional distress
  • Substance use crises
  • Trauma or shock after a difficult event
  • Thoughts of harming others
  • Intense grief, anger, or confusion
  • Overwhelming life situations

Individual Counseling

The function of this interaction serves to focus on case goals through counseling on a one-to-one basis, interaction being between a qualified mental health professional and a client.

Family Counseling

Family Counseling Services are provided to a consumer and/or family member(s) to facilitate emotional, psychological or behavioral changes and promote communication and understanding. Including the family in the counseling process often enhances the outcome of treatment.

Group Counseling

Group Counseling Service is a crucial modality effective in working with consumers who share common concerns such as coping with anger, sexual abuse, and substance abuse as well as increasing self-esteem. Groups consist of 4-6 clients.
